Dale M. Johnston, 93, of Rudolph, Ohio went to meet his Savior and be with his wife, family, and friends on Tuesday November 26, 2024. He was born on January 12, 1931, in Wood County, Ohio to the late Dolph H and Margaret A (Hedges) Johnston.
He lived in Henry County for fourteen years. Dale was a 1950 graduate of Liberty Center High school and after graduating he enlisted in the Army. Dale served our country proudly in the Korean War from 1952 until 1954. He married Janet Godlove on August 4, 1956, and they had four children: Alice Johnston, Raymond (Diane) Johnston of Bowling Green, Ohio, Amy (Barry) Milliron of Garland, Texas and Roger (Marina) Johnston of Red Oak, Texas. He and Janet divorced in 1985. He married Phyllis (Longstreet) Baldwin on May 16, 1992. She had three boys: Rick (Mary) Baldwin of Neapolis, Ohio, Randy (Penny) Baldwin of Pemberville, Ohio and Rodney (Lori) Baldwin of Perrysburg, Ohio. Phyllis preceded him in death on February 19, 2016.
He was a member of Rudolph Christian Church as well as the Tontogany American Legion 441 for 68 years, a life member of Bowling Green VFW 1148 for 54 years, a Mason for 54 years at Tontogany 451, at Weston 560, and at Grand Rapids 289 and Masonic Grand Master for 4 years.
Dale is survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous friends.
Along with his beloved wife Phyllis, he is preceded in death by his first wife Janet, his parents, daughter Alice Johnston, stepson Rod Baldwin, stepdaughter-in-law Penny Baldwin, and granddaughter Hannah Milliron.
A visitation will be held on Monday December 2, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 18620 Washington St. Tontogany, Ohio 43565. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 3, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home 18620 Washington St. Tontogany, Ohio. Pastor Dan Horner will officiate. Interment will follow at Plain Township Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered by the AMVETS Honor Detail.
