Dale F. Schmidt, 84, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away peacefully December 16, 2023. He was born July 31, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frank and Gertrude (Hays) Schmidt. He married Donna Moyers (Bower) on July 14, 1989 and she survives in Bowling Green.
Dale received his Master’s degree from Bowling Green State University. He taught art at Findlay High School. Dale was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green. He was active in numerous other groups including Kiwanis in Findlay, the Masonic Findlay Lodge 227, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Toledo, Sauder Village, The Henry Ford, Toledo Zoo and the Wood County Retired Teachers Association where he formerly served as president. Dale was also a founding and lifetime member of the National Corvette Museum.
Along with his wife of 34 years, Donna, Dale is survived by his step-daughters Diane (Moyers) Evans (Mike) of Columbus, Ohio and Beth (Moyers) Waldfogel (Chad) of West Chester, Ohio and grandchildren Parker Evans, Connor Evans, Megan Waldfogel and Leah Waldfogel.
His funeral service will be held on Friday December 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be held Friday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
