Dan R. Charnock 88, from Romulus, Michigan passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in Bowling Green, Ohio at the home of his daughter. Dan was known to many as “GP”. He was born on May, 15, 1932 to the late James and Myrtle (Wyekcoff) Charnock in Lincoln Park, Michigan. He married Billie Ann (Snavely) Charnock on April 16, 1955 and they were married for 54 years until her passing in 2009.
Dan is survived by his daughter Cindy (Dan) Schmitz of Bowling Green, Ohio; sons: Brent (Kathy) Charnock of Livonia, Michigan; and Brad Charnock of Romulus, Michigan; grandchildren: Justin, Brittany, Spencer (Sarah), Jamie (AJ), Daniel, Bradley Jr.; and great-grandchildren: Jiya, Josie, and Bodie.
Dan served our country in the US Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received on the Battle of Pork Chop Hill. Along with his father and brothers he owned Charnock Oldsmobile in Dearborn, Michigan and Michigan Golf Center driving range. Dan and Billie were avid golfers and enjoyed spending the winter months in Fort Pierce, Florida. He will be dearly missed.
