Delia Warren, age 60, of Weston, Ohio, left this world peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Born on September 8, 1964, to Juan and Dominga (Sanchez) Almaguer, Delia was a warm, gentle soul who touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.
For over 30 years, Delia devoted herself to Wood Haven Healthcare in Bowling Green. She brought so much more to her role as a cook than just meals; she brought joy, comfort, and care to residents and staff alike. In 2022, Wood Haven recognized her as a “Hero,” a title that spoke volumes about her selfless spirit and her deep commitment to making a difference. Delia’s quiet heroism, unwavering work ethic, and immense heart left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to work alongside her.
At home, Delia was the heartbeat of her family, the one who brought everyone together. She found happiness in the simplest pleasures: tending her garden, camping, cooking out, holiday gathering with family, and spending afternoons antiquing or bargain shopping. Her kitchen was always a haven of love and delicious food, with her Spanish soup and award-winning taco salad becoming family treasures, recipes that brimming with tradition and care. In an inspiring show of strength, Delia overcame a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, celebrating her five-year cancer-free milestone. Her resilience in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Delia leaves behind a family who adored her and will forever feel her absence: her beloved sons Travis Warren of Weston, Ohio; Vincent Warren of Lima, Ohio; Timothy Warren of Weston, Ohio; and Jeremy Warren of Weston, Ohio. She is also survived by her cherished siblings, Javier Almaguer of Grand Rapids, Ohio; Juan Jr. (Guadalupe) Almaguer of Weston, Ohio; Jamie (Jessica) Almaguer of Napoleon, Ohio; and Dalia (Harold) Wheeler of Bowling Green, Ohio. Her treasured grandchildren, Aviana Warren, Taylor Dewitt, Jeremy Jr. Warren, Mackenzie Warren, Trentin Warren, Sierra Warren, Zayne Huffman, Zylar Huffman, Zaige Huffman, Kylee Hartman, Landon Potter, and Brook Potter, along with her devoted boyfriend Steve Strickland, will carry on her legacy of love and strength. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Delia was preceded in death by her father Juan Almaguer and the father of her children, Timothy (Tim) Warren.
Delia’s spirit will live on in the lives she touched, and her legacy of love, resilience, and devotion will forever be cherished. She leaves behind memories of a life beautifully lived and a love that will forever be held in the hearts of those who loved her.
A funeral service will be held on Friday November 8, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District of Bowling Green, Ohio 408 W. Wooster St. Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery. Pastor Teresa Haynes will officiate. A visitation period will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m.
