A Detroit man was arrested Monday (June 2) after a Bowling Green Police Division’s license plate reading camera caught him allegedly driving a stolen car from Michigan.
The license plate camera reportedly picked up on the stolen 2011 Ford Fusion in the 100 block of East Wooster Street around 10:46 a.m. An officer located the car and Charles Hands III, 21, in City Park, 520 Conneaut Ave.
Hands reportedly told police that his brother bought the car on Facebook Marketplace. When his brother was arrested on Sunday, Hands said that he was asked to take the car so it wouldn’t be towed.
Hands was charged with receiving stolen property and taken to Wood County Jail.
