Dolores B. Sohajda age 93, of Bowling Green and formerly of Pemberville, OH passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2023 at the Bowling Green Manor, Bowling Green, OH. She was born Dolores Beverly Kinker on June 10, 1930 in Luckey, OH to Irvin and Lula (Knettle) Kinker. She married Joseph Sohajda Jr. on October 15, 1949 in Luckey, OH and together Dolores and Joe raised 2 children and celebrated nearly 69 years of marriage before Joe’s passing in 2018.
Dolores, worked in various positions throughout the years including Rossford Ordinance in Luckey, OH and as a Processor for the IRS. In addition, Dolores had been co-owner of the Portage Motel in Woodville, OH. She enjoyed collecting post cards, valentine cards and was a great admirer of Frances Brundage paintings.
Dolores is survived by her daughter: Susan (Richard) Marlowe and son: James Sohajda both of Woodville, OH, grandsons: Eric (Molly) Rippke of MI, Andrew (Jessica) Rippke of Perrysburg, 3 step grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Joseph, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: June Schmeltz, Noladean Haas and brother, James Kinker.
Family and friends will be received 10-11 a.m., with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 W. Main Street, Luckey, OH. Interment will be in the Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey, OH. Officiating will be, Pr. Peter Johnston.
