Donald F. Drummer, 95, of Bloomdale, was given his wish to join family and friends in Heaven at 4:27 p.m., on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Wood Haven Healthcare, Bowling Green. He was born on July 8, 1929, in North Baltimore to the late Frank and Fern (Creps) Drummer and married his high school sweetheart, Nancy A. Powell on February 7, 1948, and she preceded him in death on November 16, 1997.
Don was blessed to share his love and kindness to his family and many others. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and watching Westerns and Golf. He served as an active member of the Portage Center Gleaner Arbor and held state level positions. He was an active faithful member of the former Cygnet Faith United Methodist Church and was currently a member of First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green.
Don was known by many as a familiar face throughout Wood County, OH. He started out as a farmer working for his family and at a local grain elevator. From there, he began his career in Rural Fuel Delivery for Marathon Oil Company serving many farms and rural businesses for over 30 years. After retirement he went to work part-time at Ace Hardware in Bowling Green for 15 years.
Don is survived by two daughters: Cathy Drummer and Sue Shank, both of Bowling Green; daughter-in-law, Carol “Jeanie” Drummer of McComb; grandchildren: Sandy (Dale) Kepling, Pam (Jim) Reed, Crystal (Hannah Sacco) Shank, Greg (Faby) Shank; great-grandchildren: Derek (Shelby), Austin and Gabrielle Kepling, Ashley and Sarah Reed; and great-great-grandchildren: Addison, Wade, and Colton Kepling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Tim; brother, Jerry (Mary) Drummer; sister, June (Gayle) Hoffman; and a special companion for many years, Betty Rose Smith.
A private graveside service will be held in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 8, 2024, at First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
