Donald Hardy, age (93), of Luckey, OH passed away at home on Thursday, April 18, 2024 with his family at his side. He was born August 22, 1930 in Napoleon, OH. He later served his country is the United States Army, and in August of 1953 he married Suzanne E. Schaller. Don and Sue raised 5 children and celebrated over 68 years of marriage together, before Sue’s passing in December of 2021.
In addition to driving trucks, Don also worked as a Blacksmith shoeing horses, before retiring. He enjoyed showing his shelties in various dog shows. Don loved all animals and also enjoyed playing cards with friends. He had many joys in life, but his greatest was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his sons: Don (Krista) Hardy Jr. of Cincinnati, Jeffrey Hardy of Little Rock, AK, Bryan (Kim) Hardy of Bowling Green and Mark (Anna) Hardy of Maumee. Numerous grand and great-grandchildren as well as a brother; Charles Hardy of Toledo, sister; Joy Wongrowski of Luckey, and cousin; Betty Jane Manworren of Toledo. He was preceded in death by his father; Frenchie Bardeaux, mother; Eva, and daughter; Jean Marie Hardy.
Don will be laid to rest next to his wife Sue at a family committal service in Troy Township Cemetery Luckey, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to: The American Cancer Society or a humane society of the donor’s choice.
