It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris L. (Wise) Strow, who left us on November 21, 2025, at the age of 95. Doris was born on March 28, 1930, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Fred and Alice (Kirkendall) Wise. She was a proud graduate of Milton Township High School and went on to work in the offices at Rural Directories and The Daybrook Hydraulic Co.
Doris married the love of her life, Howard Strow, on September 2, 1951. Together they shared many wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She is survived by her children: Randy (Bettina) Strow, Rex (Laura) Strow, and Shelly Wright (Charles Dukes); her sister Ruth (Bill) Garrett; brother-in-law Gary (Kathy) Strow; grandchildren Dean, James E “Tommy,” Tyler, Ryan, Craig, and Rylee (John) Dyda ; step-grandson Kenneth; great-grandchildren Kiana, Matthew, Makenna, Luke, Marlee, Alicia, and step-great-grandchild Phoenix; and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her son Thomas, brothers Ray, Eugene, and Jerry Wise, and sister Norma (Gaylord) Wagner.
Known for her incredible cooking and baking skills, Doris was a true homemaker at heart. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and creating beautiful quilts. As a supportive farmer’s wife, she worked in the fields, hauled grain, and even went hunting for deer with Howard in Wyoming and Michigan. Doris dedicated countless hours to her family, from taking Shelly to figure skating practice five nights a week to diving deep into her family’s genealogy research without the help of a computer. Her love was felt deeply by all her grandchildren, whom she cherished and cared for devotedly.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Wood Haven for their exceptional and loving care of Doris during her final months.
