Drake the puppy loves toys and food – and is at Wood County Dog Shelter waiting for a home

Drake is the featured dog this week at the Wood County Dog Shelter. He is a 4-month-old lab/pittie mix that was brought in as a stray.

“How he hasn’t been adopted is beyond me,” said Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding. “He is a typical puppy who will need some training, but loves food and learns quickly. He has been great with the other dogs at the shelter and loves to play with toys.”

Drake is neutered and up to date on his vaccines.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
