A 27-year-old Deshler man died in a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Ohio 25.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene at 2:45.
They report that the crash involved a 2002 Ford F150 driven by Aldin Isaiah Zane Wright, 27, of Deshler and a 2022 Kenworth T680 driven by Joe William Pasch, 63, of Fremont.
The investigation showed that the Kenworth was southbound on Route 25 south of Route 6. The Ford was traveling eastbound on Route 6 exiting onto Route 25. Wright reportedly failed to yield the right of way and entered the southbound lanes of Route 25 into the path of the Kenworth. Both vehicles received disabling damage.
The operator of the Kenworth was transported by ground ambulance to the Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green. Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.
Assisting the Wood County Sheriff’s Office on location was the Ohio Department of Transportation, Mid County 120 EMS, Center Township Fire Department, Ricky and Angels Towing and Great Lakes Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
