Elle C. (Harris) Instone, 34, of Portage, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday August 6, 2025. She was born on December 18, 1990, in Burlingame, California to Steve and Jean (Leuzinger) Harris.
Elle lived in El Granada, California just 2 blocks from the ocean. On September 11, 2001, she and her family drove across the country to return to her father’s home in Bowling Green, Ohio on Summit St.
Elle graduated in 2009, while in school she worked for Wendy’s and Walmart. Elle met James Instone on February 10, 2013. She and James welcomed their first son James Instone on January 15, 2014. Two years later together they welcomed their second son Forrest Instone on October 24, 2016. Elle’s children were her pride and joy. Elle married James Instone on February 20, 2025.
Elle was known for her fun, kind and caring personality. She enjoyed tending to her garden. She was a devoted and loving mother whose life was defined by her unwavering kindness, selflessness, and deep care for her children.
Along with her beloved husband James, Elle is survived by her mother Jean; children James Instone, Forrest Instone; brother Josh (Aaron) Harris Dell; sister-in-law Breanna Instone; father-in-law Douglas Instone and many loving relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father Steve Harris.
A visitation for Elle will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District of Bowling Green, Ohio at 408 W. Wooster St. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with an additional visitation period starting at 10:00 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sargeant Cemetery, Portage, Ohio. Atonn Smeltzer will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be given to Elle’s sons James and Forrest Instone.
