Elsie Ann Carpenter, 100, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 22, 2019 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green.
Ann was born on October 2, 1918 to Mike and Martha Pavelich, and adopted as an infant by Amos and Anna Barker.
She married Milton Carpenter on August 26, 1940. They lived and worked on their family farm near Bowling Green where she was a loyal partner and farm wife for 46 years.
Ann was a member of Word of Truth Christian Center. In past years she was actively involved in the United Brethren Church, and Sugar Ridge Community Church serving as pianist, Sunday school teacher, and youth leader. She also had a nursing home chapel ministry at the Wood Haven, and the Community Nursing Home. Ann loved playing the piano, writing poetry, and distributing gospel tracts. Ann will always be remembered for her generous and kind spirit by reaching out to others in their time of need.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband Milton, daughter Mary, daughter-in-law Marcia, son-in-law Jim Jones, grandson James Michael Jones and brothers Willis, Leo and Carol Barker.
She is survived by her children, William of Enid, Oklahoma; Nancy Jones, Richard (Judith); Thomas (Diana) and Patricia all of Bowling Green. She is also survived by her sister Wilma Kidd of Bowling Green, 15 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Word of Truth Christian Center, 1163 Napoleon Rd. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Pastor Jerry Hunt will officiate. Interment will follow at Portage Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Word of Truth Christian Center or Bridge Hospice in Bowling Green.
