Evelyn Perez, 91, of Portage, Ohio passed away on Monday March 18, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 15, 1932, to the late Walter and Hallie (Hager) McMaster. She married Amado Perez on May 5, 1952, and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2016.
Evelyn was employed as a factory worker for Heinz until they closed their doors. After Heinz, she worked as a housekeeper at Bowling Green State University. She was a member of the Eagles and the VFW. Evelyn enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark and western movies, cheering on the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians when they played on tv. She cherished spending time with her family and cooking Sunday dinners for them. She loved every moment when she was able to watch her grand and great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Ric (Kathy) Perez, Joseph Perez, Frank Perez, Mary (Moses) Loera, Lynda (Junior) Loera, Betty Jane Perez, sister Shirley Nonemaker, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Along with Evelyn’s parents and loving husband Amado, she was preceded in death by her son William Perez, daughter Linda Perez, brothers Luther McMaster, Robert McMaster, Donald “Donny” McMaster, sisters Thelma Reed, Joann Trumbull, Cloetta Perez and Ruth Wheeler.
Memorial contributions may be given to Portage Baseball.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District of Bowling Green, Ohio at 408 W. Wooster St.
