Fawn Crawfoot, 90, of Bowling Green passed way on March 4, 2024. She was born on July 1, 1933 to the late Roy and Fawn C. (Fletcher) Farley. She married Linden Crawfoot on January 23, 1950 and sadly 14 months later he was killed in the Korean War as a member of the 11th airborne. Years later she married Jim Christy and he has also preceded her in death.
Fawn worked for 26 years for various photographers making black & white photo into color portraits. She was very proud of her Native American ancestry dating back to her great-grandparents. They came from Canada, crossed Lake Erie to Sandusky, Ohio in the former Woodside. Her heritage was Iroquois Nation; Mohawk Tribe; and Bear Clan. She founded the Native Pride & Friends Walking Group honoring Native Vets and was a member of the NAUC (Native American United Council) at BGSU. She a member of the former POW-WOW organization in Findlay. She hand made Regalia (clothing), and was very talented in bead and leather work. She enjoyed bowling and is in the BG Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame.
She is survived by her daughters; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fawn was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Linden; second husband Jim; and son Audie.
Contributions in her honor may be gifted to NAUC at BGSU.
A graveside service for Fawn will be held at Graham Cemetery in Wayne, Ohio on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 11:00 am.
