Fire investigators remain on the scene this morning of a house fire at 731 Rosalind Drive.
Bowling Green Fire Chief Bill Moorman said the call came in at 12:08 this morning, and when firefighters arrived four minutes later, the fire had fully engulfed the garage and spread to the attic of the one-story home.
According to the chief, the owner of the home had just arrived home from vacation, and was unpacking, when the smoke detector went off.
“Not the type of thing you want to come home to,” Moorman said.
There were no injuries, but the home is uninhabitable. The garage and attic had the most damage, with holes needed to be made in the roof to ventilate. The rest of the house also suffered smoke, heat and water damage. And the vehicle in the garage was destroyed, the chief said.
Middleton Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the BG Fire Division and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
