On Friday, June 20, Bowling Green’s historic downtown buzzed with the return of Firefly Nights Festival. Running from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m., the event provided hundreds of festivalgoers with an evening of free entertainment.

Family-friendly activities included cornhole, sidewalk chalk, inflatables, and face-painting. Food trucks populated the Huntington parking lot, while vendors lined Main Street. From 7 – 9 p.m., Timmy C and the Game Changers headlined the festival and performed in the McKenzie Flower Basket parking lot. There were additional performances by Julie’s Dance Studio, magician Andrew Martin, and stilt-walkers from Glovation.

There will be two additional Firefly Nights Festivals this summer. One will be held downtown on July 18 and the other at Wooster Green on Aug. 15.

Firefly Nights is a nonprofit organization dedicated to planning and executing three annual events in the heart of Bowling Green. The mission of Firefly Nights is to foster the “diverse, neighborly, and lively atmosphere” of downtown Bowling Green, while giving the community an opportunity to gather for fun, food and entertainment.
