Floyd Chamberlain Jr

Floyd Chamberlain, 80, of Bowling Green, Ohio, a longtime private pilot, made his final call for takeoff to the flight tower and embarked on his last flight, on forever wings, to his eternal home, surrounded by his loving family on April 15, 2025.

Floyd was born on April 20, 1944, to the late Floyd Sr. and Algia Chamberlain in Bowling Green, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Chamberlain, the love of his life. He devoted the last 10 years to lovingly caring for her throughout her journey with Alzheimer’s.

Floyd graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1962, where he played trumpet in the band and wrestled. He later attended the University of Toledo, taking courses in engineering, a skillset he used throughout his life. He proudly served the city of Bowling Green for 25 years as a firefighter, saving countless homes, businesses, and lives.

Floyd lived a life of service, adventure, and craftsmanship, a true Jack of All Trades. He was most often found under the hood of a car, in his plane, on his motorcycle, at the lake on his sailboat, mowing the lawn, or tinkering in the barn. He had a passion for restoring antique cars and loved cruising around town with Joyce in his fully restored Ford Model A Coupe. Flying was one of his greatest joys, he loved soaring through the skies with Joyce and friends in his Cessna. The couple also enjoyed spending winters in Alabama. They created countless memories together; their love was an inspiration to all who knew them.

Along with his loving wife, Joyce, Floyd is survived by their daughters Lisa (Rick) Harrison, Lori (Tony) Fox, and Kristi Chamberlain; seven beautiful grandchildren; and two precious great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held for family and friends at Oak Grove Cemetery on Thursday May 8, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at Beckett’s Burger Bar in the Barrel Room in Bowling Green, Ohio from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District of Bowling Green, Ohio as 408 W.
