First Christian Church of Bowling Green, 875 Haskins Road, will be serving its monthly drive-thru community meal on Friday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 6 p.m. As part of FCC’s food mission, this community meal, food bags and toiletries are free of charge and offered to anyone in need.
Those who are experiencing food insecurity are encouraged to participate in this free meal.
Since November 2020, the community meal has been a part of FCC’s food ministry to reduce food insecurity in the community.
In addition to the meal, food bags will be distributed, provided by St. Thomas More University Parish and the BG Christian Food Pantry. Participants are also offered a variety of breads and pastries provided by the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry and the Sweet Shop.
The toiletries pantry will be available due to the generosity of First Presbyterian Church.
Volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provide event help including the distribution of the food bags and bread/pastries.
All are welcome and there is no charge for the meal, food bags, toiletries, or the breads and pastries.
The minimal contact dinner is easy to participate in. Participants need to arrive between 5 and 6 p.m. at the church’s parking lot and remain in their cars. Volunteers will take their orders, hand deliver the meals, and direct them to the bread and pastries. COVID and flu precautions are requested to be followed.
