The Sylvania Great Black Swamp Frogs Vintage Base Ball team will take on the Mansfield Independents in an old-school baseball game Sunday July 27 at Shinew Field/Enright Park in Portage. The first game is from 12:30-2 p.m. and the second game will run from 2:30-4:00 pm.
The teams play by the rules of the 1860s (historically accurate uniforms, wooden bats, no gloves, slight rule changes).
The Frogs will have people on hand to explain history of the sport and educate anyone who wants to learn. People are also encouraged to participate and maybe take a few swings, field a few balls.
