Melanie Garbig, executive director of pupil services for Bowling Green City Schools, will be retiring on Aug. 1. Garbig, a former principal at Crim Elementary School, was recognized during Tuesday’s board of education meeting.

She has worked in education for 36 years – 26 of those with Bowling Green City Schools.

Superintendent Francis Scruci expressed his sadness at losing someone with Garbig’s extensive experience.

“She has left a lasting impact on thousands of students,” Scruci said.

The board also welcomed Michele Wolf as the new athletic director. Wolf is currently the athletic director at Fostoria High School, and has coached at both Otsego and Fostoria.
