From GATHERING VOLUMES

On Sunday, April 7 Gathering Volumes will be hosting a discussion with Amanda Flower, USA Today bestselling and Agatha Award-winning mystery author of over 25 novels, and Anna Lee Huber, Daphne award-winning and USA Today bestselling author of historical fiction and mysteries, in recognition of the release of Flower’s latest novel, “To Slip the Bonds of Earth” (Kensington, $27).

The discussion will kick-off at 2:30 pm on Sunday, April 7 at Gathering Volumes (196. E. South Boundary St. Perrysburg, OH). Light refreshments will be served as well as a readings from both books, a discussion and Q&A, and finally a book signing.

“We have hosted both Amanda and Anna in the past,” says Denise Phillips, owner of Gathering Volumes, “and our book club members and customers really liked their novels. When the chance came up to have them both in store in conversation, it was an opportunity that we couldn’t pass up.”

In To Slip the Bonds of Earth,”we travel back to 1903. While not as famous as her older siblings Wilbur and Orville, the celebrated inventors of flight, Katharine Wright is equally inventive – especially when it comes to solving crimes. “To Slip the Bonds of Earth” is the radiant start to a new historical mystery series inspired by the real sister of the Wright Brothers. Huber’s latest novel, “Sisters of Fortune: A Riveting Historical Novel of the Titanic Based on True History,” released in February. Huber expertly weaves real historical figures and events into this vivid, surprising, emotionally powerful novel about longing for independence and love. It is based on the true story of the Fortune sisters, three young women each at a crossroads when they boarded the RMS Titanic in the spring of 1912.

“With such similar time periods and such intriguing historical figures at the helm, it was only natural to pair these two for an intriguing conversation,” Ms. Phillips stated. The story of the three Fortune sisters and the three Wright siblings, while wildly different, one story on land and in air, and the other on the ocean, also speak of family, love, and difficult life choices.

Anna Lee Huber is the Daphne award-winning and USA Today bestselling author of historical fiction and mysteries, including the Lady Darby Mysteries and the Verity Kent Mysteries. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she majored in music and minored in psychology. A member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, and International Thriller Writers, she currently resides in Indiana with her family.

Amanda Flower is the USA Today bestselling and Agatha Award–winning mystery author of over twenty-five novels, including the nationally bestselling Amish Candy Shop Mystery Series, the Amish Matchmaker Mysteries, the Katharine Wright Mysteries, and several series written under the name Isabella Alan.
