George “Bill” Roe, 74, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Friday September 13, 2024. He was born on February 6, 1950 in Weston, Ohio to George and Vera (Green) Roe. He married Joyce (Smith) on November 17, 1979 and she survives.
Bill, a quiet man of great faith, always loved being outdoors, whether he was farming, mowing, working on the Stone Ridge grounds crew, or spending time in the woods hunting. He thoroughly loved watching all his kids playing sports as they grew up. He was an avid sports fan, especially of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Detroit Tigers.
Along with his wife of 44 years, Joyce, Bill is survived by his children Ashley (Sean) Riley, Jon (Michelle) Roe, Joe (Sarah) Roe, and Caleb (Sydney) Roe. Also surviving are his 9 grandchildren Grace, Tyler, Olivia, Ellie, Madeline, Easton, Jackson, Henry and Evelyn. His sisters Ruth (Bob) Snyder and Debbie (Eric) Vollmar and brother Jim (Robin) Roe also survive.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sue Coker.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday September 24, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Drive Bowling Green, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Pastor Robin Small will officiate. Private family burial will be held at Tontogany Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to be made out to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
