George Henry Vetter, 83, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away April 15, 2023. He was born August 7, 1939 in Custar, Ohio to the late Arthur and Ruth (Long) Vetter. He married Mary Bostdorff on July 29, 1967 and she preceded him in death.
George served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a mechanic for ODOT for many years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bowling Green and a member of the Wood County Farm Bureau.
George enjoyed spending time traveling all around the United States with his wife Mary, riding his motorcycle, golfing, camping, farming and attending Otsego basketball games. He loved his Classic Car Club and playing in his dart ball league. George was never without his camera and video camera- capturing memories for his family. His greatest joy was his family and he never missed an opportunity to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
He is survived by his children Tim (Brooke) Vetter of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Tammie (John) Laytart of Grand Rapids, Ohio and Terrie Huddleston of Grand Rapids, Ohio, grandchildren Maxwell, Maylee, Logan, Sydnie, Trevor and Tanner and siblings Robert (Susan) Vetter of Custar, Ohio and Laura Marsh of Holland, Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 20, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 18620 Washington St. Tontogany, Ohio 43565.His funeral service will be held on Friday April 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 17050 Middleton Pike Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Pastor Steve Bauerle will officiate. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Bowling Green.
