Giuseppe “Joe” Guerra of Bowling Green peacefully passed away after being anointed by Pastor Father Mark Davis at home surrounded by his family on Friday 9-16-2016. Joe was born in Rapone ,Potenza, Italy to Domenico and Lucia (Nardillo) Guerra. He was employed as a technician for Wieboldts, Inc. Chicago IL for 35 years. Surviving locally are his daughter,Lucia; son-in-law, Nathan Bockbrader; and granddaughter, Mariah. Also surviving is his son Domenico and daughter-in-law Maria and their children, Giuseppe, Flavia and Luca who reside in Italy along with brothers and sisters throughout Europe and the US. Joe was a kind, quiet natured, gentle soul who never lost faith in humanity and cherished his friendships. His strong belief and faith in God sustained him throughout his entire life. There will be a 12pm mass in his honor on Sunday Oct 2, 2016 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green. There will be no services held here in the US since Joe will be making his final journey to rest in his family’s mausoleum where his beloved wife Maria Carmela (Vernieri) Guerra is laid to rest in the mountains of southern Italy.
