Glenn Martin Overhulse

Beloved husband, father, son, and brother, Glenn Martin Overhulse, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 4, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on January 30, 1958, he was the son of Paul R. and the late Mary E. “Betty” Overhulse. He graduated from Bowling Green Senior High School in 1976, briefly attended Bowling Green State University, and graduated from Greer Technical Institute in Chicago, Illinois, in 1980. On December 10, 1983, he married Carolyn Sue Gatte with whom he shared thirty-three years of marriage and had three children. Until his passing, he was owner and proprietor of Or’s Sunoco in Haskins, Ohio.

Glenn was an avid Detroit sports fan, enjoyed bowling, golf and racquetball, grilling in the backyard, taking a dip in the pond and riding his Harley on country roads. He served the Middleton township fire department as a volunteer firefighter for more than twenty years, during which time he worked his way up to captain. He was kind, generous, and fair to all who knew him, always willing to help anyone in need, with a quick wit and a ready laugh. He was a true family man, proud of his children, and happiest when all of his family was gathered together at his house for any occasion.

Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Overhulse, and is survived by his father, Paul R. Overhulse of Bowling Green, Ohio. Glenn is also survived by his loving and beloved wife, Carolyn; his sons Paul Robert Overhulse (Kristina Sharp) of Maumee, Ohio, and Justin Martin Overhulse attending college at USC; his daughter Cailyn Sue Overhulse at home; his sisters Kathy Overhulse Smith (Ray) of Bloomington, Indiana, Lois Overhulse Niezgoda of Houston, Texas, and Marilyn Overhulse Crabill (Eric) of Columbus, Ohio.
