Gloria J. Smith, 73, of Bowling Green passed away Friday April 8, 2016.Gloria was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Frank and Lenora (Francis) Harvey. She married Ellsworth Smith on April 18, 1964 in England and he survives in Bowling Green. Gloria is also survived by her children: Gary Smith of Bowling Green, Donna (Keith) Vergon of Granger, Indiana, Sherry (Tim) Purdy of Bowling Green and Kenneth (Patti) Smith of Bowling Green; grandchildren: Amanda (Mike) Schwanbeck, Adam (Katie) Purdy, Matthew (Chelsi) Purdy, Dylan, Makayla and Sean Smith; great-grandchildren: Addison, Annelise, Sawyer and Tucker; siblings: Gillian, Lyn, Neil and Robert; and her best friend Joan Ostas.
Gloria was a member of the Word of Truth Center in Bowling Green. She was an avid reader, where she enjoyed reading novels, especially Nora Roberts. Gloria loved watching tennis and the Amazing Race. Gloria was an avid researcher of American History and loved playing games online, Big Fish and Candy Crush were just a few. Gloria also enjoyed traveling all over the United States but especially to North Carolina to see her grandson and spend time on the beach. Gloria had a love for her family. She was very family oriented and loved every minute she spent with them, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Graveside Service in Gloria’s honor will be on Thursday April 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Riverview Cemetery, West Milgrove.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, Bowling Green.
