Gonyer voices support for Norm Geer and Ryan Myers for BG City Schools Board of Education

I write this letter as a private citizen, endorsing Norm Geer and Ryan Myers for the Bowling Green City Schools Board of Education. Norm and Ryan have served the school district for the past 8 and 5 years respectively with passion, dedication, and care for the students, teachers and staff, parents, and residents of the Bowling Green City School district. Both men have served as president of the board, and have demonstrated leadership that is effective, respectful, compassionate, and measured.

For the last two years since the passage of the high school bond issue, Ryan and Norm have dedicated countless hours to representing the board during the process of planning for and designing the new high school. They have participated in meetings with architects, design professionals, teachers, staff, administrators, and community members. They have led in gathering input and information about the needs of our students, and advocated for only the best as this process has played out. They understand that this new school is a gift from the community, and that it has to be designed with not only our current students and teachers in mind, but the students and teachers of the next 50-60 years. Ryan and Norm know that we as a board and a school district have one chance to build this the right way.

Additionally, Norm and Ryan were instrumental in the hiring of Dr. Haselman, who has effectively and efficiently led the district into a new era. Throughout his short tenure in BGCS, Dr. Haselman has composed a team of administrators that take their responsibilities seriously, and have worked tirelessly to make BGCS a destination district. It has become very clear that BGCS is growing, is on an upward trajectory, and is a place for all students to thrive. Therefore, it is without hesitation that I personally give my full endorsement to Ryan Myers and Norm Geer, and ask you to cast your votes for them on or before November 4.
