From GRAND RAPIDS HISTORICAL SOCIETY, CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, AND TOWN HALL COMMITTEE OF GRAND RAPIDS
Grand Rapids will host Halloween events on Saturday, Oct. 25, beginning at 11 a.m. Event-organizers are currently seeking people to join the “Witches Walk,” a flash-mob with simple dance moves. Participants are asked to find or make a costume, learn the moves, show up, and dance.
People can learn the dance steps at Defying Gravity Dance Studio, 17679 Woodburn Ave., Grand Rapids, from instructor, Hayley, on Monday, Oct. 13, or Oct. 20 from 6:50 – 7:50 p.m. For participants unable to attend, a video tutorial will be available. To join the class list and receive an email with further details, email adropofhoneyllc@gmail.com.
“Trapped in the Theater: The Escape Room Experience” will also occur on Saturday, Oct. 25, in the historic Grand Rapids Town Hall, 24282 Front St. The event will run from noon – 8 p.m., with the last group entering at 7 p.m. Groups will have between five to 10 participants, and they must be age 12 and up, unless accompanied by parents.
Participants will be locked in a room with a group of friends or strangers and attempt to solve the puzzle presented. People will need to find hidden clues and use their wits to discover the answers, while touring the darkest recesses of the town hall.
The price to experience this Halloween happening is $10 per person, with all proceeds going to further restoration of the town hall. To order tickets, contact Matthew Tolles at 21matthewsnyder@gmail.com.
