Grand Rapids Town Hall hosting ‘What the Dickens’

“What the Dickens”, a Christmas Sing-Along,  will be presented in the historic Grand Rapids Town Hall on Friday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. 

Hayley Babcock will be the stage producer, Carole Sarkan will be the stage director, Mark Sarkan will play Ebeneezer Scrooge, and Matthew Snyder will serve as photographer.

Decorations will be provided by Chris Heban and Field of Dreams. 

Pre-program music will be provided by Josh Hergert and Lynne Long. Piano students Sophia Gerwin and Amelia Richards will also perform. The audience will have the opportunity to join in singing a number of popular carols during the evening.

Dancers from Defying Gravity will be performing on stage. Students participating will be: Gabriel Radabaugh, Noah Radabaugh, Evan Radabaugh, Katie Starr, Emilee Harrwaldt, Taylor Asmus, James Bates, Aubree Moore, Miriam Hergert, Addyson Brooks, Marissa Tschappat, Piper Sharpe, Ella Kosinski, Nataleigh Kersten, Haley Premo, Leah Wynkoop, and Paige Braley. Their instructor is Sarah Radabaugh.

The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce is raffling off 10 Christmas wreaths donated by local owners and residents. 

Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and will be on sale through Dec. 8. The wreaths are on display in River Crossings in downtown Grand Rapids, and tickets can be purchased there every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The drawing for the wreath will take place after the Sing-Along.

Admission is free, but a free will offering will be taken. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable items for the Otsego Food Pantry.

The holiday evening has been planned by the Town Hall Committee, a group of citizens who are bringing life and entertainment back into the lovely facility.
