HAB bloom showing some growth in Lake Erie

Latest harmful Algae bloom update from the NOAA’s National Ocean Service:

The cyanobacteria bloom in western Lake Erie has an approximate area of 10 square miles, which is an increase in area since Jun 26. Satellite imagery is detecting patches of cyanobacteria (Microcystis) in North Maumee Bay near Erie, MI in far western Lake Erie. Sandusky Bay has a local bloom of mixed cyanobacteria. No toxins have been detected.
