From HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF WOOD COUNTY
Habitat for Humanity of Wood County will host a ground blessing ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 5:30 p.m., at 117 W. Perry St., Walbridge, to mark the beginning of construction on a new home for the Harder family. This project represents the organization’s 58th home build in Wood County.
The ground blessing is a longstanding Habitat for Humanity tradition, signifying not only the physical start of construction but also the promise of stability, strength, and opportunity for the partner family. Local officials, community members, and supporters are invited to attend the event.
“Each home we build reflects the commitment of our community to creating affordable housing solutions,” said Mark Ohashi, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Wood County. “The Harder family’s future home is a testament to what can be achieved when volunteers, partners, and supporters come together with a shared purpose.”
Habitat for Humanity of Wood County continues to seek corporate partnerships to support this build and is actively recruiting volunteers to assist with construction throughout the project. Participation is open to individuals and groups. No prior building experience is required.
