Hallie Williams named new executive director of BG Downtown Special Improvement District

Hallie Williams

The Downtown Bowling Green Special Improvement District (SID) has announced Hallie Williams has been named as its new executive director.

Williams brings over a decade of experience in community engagement, nonprofit leadership, and public service, most recently serving as the community affairs coordinator for the City of Bowling Green.

“Downtown means a lot to me – and not just professionally,” Williams said. “I’ve watched it grow, worked alongside the people who keep it moving, and celebrated in its spaces. I’m excited to build on that and support our property and business owners in new ways. With the support of our board and the city, I really believe we can keep making downtown even better – more connected, more vibrant, more ‘Bowling Green.’”

Williams will be working closely with the SID Board of Directors and the City of Bowling Green to move the organization forward, guided by an evolving strategic direction focused on strengthening downtown as a place to live, work, shop, and gather.

“We’re delighted to welcome Hallie to the SID,” said Dick Newlove, president of the Downtown Bowling Green SID Board. “She brings fresh perspective, deep local roots, and a great deal of enthusiasm. Her vision is clear, and we’re confident she’ll be a strong partner to the board, the city, and the downtown community.”

The SID Board credited Kati Thompson, interim director, and Jenny Bowers, interim office manager, for their leadership over the past year and advancing key priorities, including the nearly completed Alleyway Project, which has transformed downtown alleys into community spaces filled with art, lighting, and charm.
