James F. Zeis II, 79, passed away peacefully at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay on October 18, 2021. He was the husband of Betty Jean (Sams) Zeis, with whom he shared 51 loving years of marriage. Born in Tiffin, Ohio, he was the son of the last James F Zeis and Evelyn (Mason) Zeis. He graduated from Old Fort High School in 1960. He continued his higher education at Ohio State University, Toledo University and Purdue. He was a mechanical engineer and worked in the powder coating industry. He served as an Ohio State Patrol trooper for several years. He was also the Chief of Police in Bradner, Ohio. He was a member of the Grand Mason and was a 32nd degree.
Survivors: James will be dearly missed and remembered by his children: James F. Zeis III and wife, Kelley, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Alicia (Zeis) Limes and husband, Dana, of Bowling Green, Ohio; Michael Zeis and wife, Kim, of Bowling Green, Ohio; Michelle (Zeis) Clawson and husband, Michael, of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchildren: Breanna, Brooke, Brandon, Dalton, Taylor, Hunter, Zachary, Kayla, McKayla, Jack, Grant and Michaela; great-grandchildren: Braylen, Bralynn, Ayden, Colton; and his brother Tom Zeis.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held on November 13, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM in Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home’s Remembrance Hall, please dress casual.
