James J. Hoile, age 86, of Wayne, Ohio and formerly of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday (June 21, 2024) at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 22, 1937 in Whitehouse, Ohio to the late Charles & Rose (Olwick) Hoile. James first married Linda Lois Sutton and she preceded him in passing on April 2, 1995. He then married Linda Lou Downs on June 8, 1996, and she passed away on February 21, 2014.
Surviving is his daughter, Holly (Jay) Vandersall of Wayne, Ohio; son, Jeff (Sue) Hoile of Perrysburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Chelsea (Andrew) Hess, Erin Vandersall, Brandon, Elijah, and Aidan Hoile; great-granddaughter, Aurora Hess; siblings, Bill Hoile, Ronald (Kris) Hoile, Charles (Dianne) Hoile, Paul (Emily) Hoile, Joyce Hoile, Dolores (Robert) Taylor and his cat Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Rose; loving wives, Linda Lois, Linda Lou; siblings, Daniel Hoile, Christina Hoile, Charlotte Fisher, Barbara Pasquini, Patty Duran; sister-in-law, Ruby Hoile.
James worked 32 ½ years at Johns Manville, was a member of Tontogany Presbyterian Church, and attended Church of the Good Shepherd near Wayne. Among many hobbies, he had a passion for photography. His specialty was capturing Deer & Ducks, and other wildlife. James also enjoyed attending parades and events at church, going to the Bowling Green and Wayne Senior Centers, camping with family, but his greatest love in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Friends will be received from 9:00-11:00 AM Tuesday (June 25, 2024) at Church of the Good Shepherd near Wayne, Ohio with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday (June 25, 2024) with Pastor Brad Kehn officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery near Bowling Green, Ohio with a bereavement luncheon to follow back at Church of the Good Shepherd. Memorial Donations may be made to the Wayne Volunteer Fire Department or the Wood County Committee on Aging. Barndt Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
