James Davis, 75, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Monday September 11, 2023. He was born on August 31, 1948, to the late Raymond and Twilo (Gearhart) Davis.
Jim was a 1966 graduate of Bowling Green high school he then attended BGSU. Jim proudly served for our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a communication specialist in Germany. Since being honorably discharged from the army, Jim was a member of Wood County Emergency Management Agency. Jim worked as an electronic engineer at BGSU in the School of Mass Communications. For many years he was a member of Center Township Fire Department. He was a 4-H livestock advisor for 25 years. Before cellphones, Jim was responsible for all the emergency phones, audio and speaker systems at the fairgrounds. Jim was fluent in different trades, plumbing, carpentry, mechanics, electrical, electronic, audio and computers. Jim installed police and fire radio systems for emergency personnel in the City of Toledo. He worked several years at the Water Treatment Plant in Toledo as a licensed water treatment specialist. He was a lifelong member of the Wood County Amateur Radio Club.
Jim is survived by his friend of 42 years, Estelle Dobbins of Bowling Green, Ohio.
His funeral services will be private. Burial will be located at Oak Grove Cemetery.
