Juan J. “John” Gonzales, 65, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016.
John was born on August 20, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Gabriel and Isabel (Ramos) Gonzalez, and he is survived by his life partner of 26 years Victoria Melendrez, of Bowling Green, Ohio.
John retired from the former Modine Manufacturing Company and volunteered for the Wood County Committee on Aging, Meals on Wheels after his retirement. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bowling Green VFW Post 1148, the Bowling Green Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 2180 and he was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. John was a true family man who loved helping his family in any way he could, however most of all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
Along with his life partner Victoria, John is survived by daughters: Lisa (Jacob) Sanchez, of San Antonio, Texas; Irene Gonzales, of San Antonio, Texas; Pancha Melendrez, of Bowling Green, Ohio; sons: Juan Gonzales Jr., of San Antonio, Texas; Henry Gonzalez, of San Antonio, Texas; Juan Benito (Veronica) Gonzales, of San Antonio, Texas; a sister: Maria Diana (Daniel) Martinez, of Bowling Green, Ohio; brothers: Manuel (Blanca Arias) of South Carolina; Jesus (Juanita) Gonzales, of Bowling Green, Ohio; 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren along with a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters: Victoria Llanas and Eva Llanas and a brother: Gabriel Gonzales.
Visitation for John will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster Street/P.O. Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, Tele: 419-352-2171. Johns Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in the St. Aloysius Catholic Church 150 South Enterprise Street, Bowling Green, Ohio, with Father Mark Davis officiating. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will immediately follow John’s Funeral Mass at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 2180, 1163 North Main Street, Bowling Green, Ohio.
