Kathleen E. “Kate” Baer, 68, of Curtice, Ohio passed away Tuesday March 3, 2016.
Kate was born in Port Clinton, Ohio to the late Richard and Cora (Schultz) Witt. She married John Baer on January 22, 1971 and he survives her in Curtice, Ohio. Also surviving is her son: Raymond (Jami) Baer of Bowling Green; grandchildren: Gavin, Eric, Nyah and Emily; brothers: Richard (Alice) of Williston, Ohio, Ervin of Genoa, Ohio, Ronald (Sharon) of Oregon, Ohio; sisters: Barbara Ann Jean of Toledo, Ohio, Carolyn Starnes of Oak Harbor, Ohio, Joanne Pettit of Oregon, Ohio; Betty Lou Roberts of Van Buren, Ohio and Priscilla “Ginger” Lehman of Genoa, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Alvin, Wilbur and Karl and sisters: Mildred, Anna and Elsie.
The most important thing in Kate’s life was her family. She and John enjoyed many years of camping at Big Sandy and Fire Lake. If they were not camping they could be found going on a motorcycle ride or attending a grandchild’s sporting event. She loved gardening and cooking. Kate battled cancer for many years and made sure to make special memories with each of her grandchildren.
Visitation for Kate will be held on Thursday May 5 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1460 W. Wooster St., Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, where her funeral service will be on Friday May 6, 2016 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be gifted in Kate’s honor to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
