Lamar D Malone

Lamar D. Malone, 86, of Bowling Green, OH passed away Tuesday, October 14 at Wood County Hospital. This kind, gentle, caring, and quiet man was born November 25, 1938 in Sturgis, Michigan to parents Robert and Cleo (Barton) Malone.

Lamar graduated from Ashley High School in Ashley, Indiana. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana, followed by a master’s degree from Western Michigan University

He worked first as a chemical engineer for Dayco Corp., then went on to become the Vice President of Product Development for Goshen Rubber Company in Goshen, Indiana, where he worked until his retirement.

Lamar was a member of First United Methodist Church in Middlebury, Indiana, as well as the American Chemical Association – Rubber Division. He was also a past member of both the Middlebury Country Club and the Bowling Green Country Club. In his free time, Lamar enjoyed both domestic and international travel, attending the theater, golfing, playing tennis, reading, playing bridge and other card games, and spending winters with Laurie at their home in Naples, Florida.

Lamar was preceded in death by his parents and spouse Janet (Mahoney) Malone.

He leaves behind sister Sharon (Lee) Myers of Bowling Green; Ohio, Laurel “Laurie” Krone, loving and compassionate partner of 20 years; extended family, and many friends.

The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate attention given to Lamar by doctors, nurses, aides, and staff at Wood Haven Healthcare, the Wood County Hospital, and Bridge Hospice.

Per Lamar’s wishes, a private graveside committal service will take place at a later date in Grace Lawn Cemetery in Middlebury, Indiana.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street.
