Larry K. Zimmerman passed away on January 21, 2025. He was born on July 14, 1941 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late George T. and Marjorie L. (McElhaney) Zimmerman. He married Sharon A. (Heyman) Gibson on April 14, 1984, in Bowling Green, Ohio. She preceded him in death on February 29, 2016.
Larry is survived by his siblings, Lee (Joyce) Zimmerman and families, Ann (Bill) Watters and families, children Kathy (Larry) Burnside, Rob Zimmerman, Dawn (Dan) Griffin, grandchildren Abbey and Keegan Sehnert, former wife Sue (Hinesman) Bernardo and special friend Karen Freeman.
Larry graduated from Bowling Green High School and the University of Toledo with a pharmacy degree. He enjoyed his career as a pharmacist where many people knew his smiling face behind the pharmacy counters of Center Drug, Dorsey’s Drugs, Scarbrough Pharmacy, Jaks Pharmacy and his own pharmacy, Z Drugs on West Wooster St. in Bowling Green for many years.
Larry was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and The Flying Quail Model A Club. He enjoyed playing on the dartball team at St. Mark’s, playing euchre with his card group, turning wood bowls with his buddy Dick Bostdorff and hanging out with friends at “The Shop”. His favorite place to travel to was Aruba, which is a destination he shared with family and friends over the years.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 27, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Dr. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Robin Small will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green. There will be a bereavement lunch at the church afterwards.
