Laura Rood, 74, of Bowling Green Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018.
Laura was born to the late James and Helen (Schroeder) Strickland in Ashland, Kentucky. She married Francis Rood in Rudolph, Ohio on June 21, 1963 he survives in Bowling Green, Ohio. Laura is also survived by her daughters: Susan (Russell) Goris, of Brooklyn, New York; Debbra (Charles) Lundy of Holgate, Ohio; Sheri (Len) Caron of Plymouth, Massachusetts; sons: Steven (Keri) Rood of Swanton, Ohio & Kenneth Rood of Kingston, Massachusetts; brothers: Abraham Stricklen & Thomas (Barb) Strickland; grandchildren: Jeffery, Dana, Hanna, Jacob, Darren, Noah, Jared, Christopher, Kenneth Jr., Chip, Michael & Jordan; & 7 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents Laura was preceded in death by her daughter: Elizabeth; brothers: Richard & James Strickland.
Laura was a 1962 graduate of Westwood High School. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She especially enjoyed spoiling her children and grandchildren as well as her nieces and nephews. Laura was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. She would pass the time by shopping, talking on the phone or watching General Hospital. Laura was known for her infectious smile and will be dearly missed.
Visitation for Laura will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory 1460 W. Wooster St. Bowling Green Ohio 43402. Tele: 419-352-2171. Funeral Services for Laura will be on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Michael Jenkins officiating.
Memorial Contributions in Laura’s honor may be gifted to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or The American Cancer Society.
