Laurie Ann Fouts

Laurie Ann Fouts, 62, of Weston, Ohio passed away on November 4, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospital. She was born on March 14, 1963 to the late Melvin and Helen (Fintel) Gobrogge in Defiance, Ohio. Laurie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Fouts; Children: Aaron (Brittany) Fouts of Tipp City, Ohio and Rachel (Jon) Rickli of Geneva, Illinois and two grandsons: Theo and Oliver Rickli; Sisters: Karen (Jerry) Stratton of The Villages, Florida; Diana Bormann of Jackson, Wisconsin; Brothers: Timothy (Cindy) Gobrogge of Cypress, Texas; John (Kelly) Gobrogge of Sylvania; and Brother-in-Law Stephen Maxey of Defiance; Laurie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Deborah Maxey.

Laurie earned her Bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University and her Master’s of Education from Bowling Green State University. For 35 years, she shared her love of learning and mathematics as a dedicated teacher of algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus at Penta Career Center, inspiring generations of students. A woman of deep faith, Laurie was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Weston, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, later becoming a member of Abiding Word Lutheran Church in Bowling Green. She lived out the Gospel through her kindness, service, and unwavering love for her family, friends, coworkers, and church community. Laurie found joy in gardening, baking, and creating beautiful handmade gifts for those she loved, each one a reflection of her generous spirit. Above all, her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family, especially her beloved children and grandchildren, making every visit and holiday a treasured memory.

Visitation for Laurie will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Laurie’s funeral service will be at Abiding Word Lutheran Church on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Weston Cemetery.
