Local officials and safety advocates to honor victims of fatal crashes

From SAFE COMMUNITIES OF WOOD COUNTY

Local officials and safety advocates will gather to remember and honor the 16 victims of fatal crashes from the past year during a special Roadway Safety Remembrance Ceremony. The event will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, at 9 a.m., in the Emergency Operations Center at the Wood County courthouse.

This ceremony offers an opportunity for the community to reflect on the lives lost and to renew a shared commitment to improving roadway safety for all who travel in Wood County and beyond.

“Each life lost on our roadways represents a family forever changed. By coming together, we honor those memories and strengthen our resolve to prevent future tragedies,” said Sandy Wiechman, coordinator of Safe Communities of Wood County.

Local leaders, first responders, and members of the Safe Communities Coalition will be in attendance, alongside community partners dedicated to reducing serious injuries and fatalities on the roads.

The public is invited to attend.
