Committee on Aging programs closed; BG center opened as heating center only
The Wood County Committee on Aging (WCCOA) announces that all WCCOA locations will be closed on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, due to dangerously low wind chills expected throughout the day. This closure includes all meals and programming across the county.
The Wood County Senior Centerat 140 S. Grove, Bowling Green, will remain open from 8 a.m.to 5 p.m. as a warming center only. No meals or activities will be offered. Both lunch and the evening meal are canceled.
Those with appointments or scheduled programming on Tuesday, will be contacted by the appropriate department staff.
Home Delivered Meal clients are asked to utilize their shelf-stable meals. WCCOA drivers will conduct wellness check phone calls throughout the day to ensure client safety.
