Lynn, a higher energy cattle dog mix, is waiting at dog shelter for active family to adopt her

Meet Lynn, a 1-year-old cattle dog mix that came to the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray.

“She is the sweetest girl, and just wants to be everybody’s friend,” Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding said. “She loves to play with other dogs, and was trying to play with the cats at the finder’s home. She is a higher energy girl that would love an active family.”

Lynn is on the waitlist to be spayed, but will come with a $75 vet voucher to go toward that expense.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.

The dog shelter is also reminding people that 2025 dog licenses went on sale on Dec. 1.  Prices for Wood County licenses are $14 until Jan. 31, and then they will go up to $28.  The shelter staff would like to remind everybody that it is the law to get your dog licensed, and the best way to get your dog home if your dog is missing.  There will be some satellite locations throughout Wood County for licenses (listed below.) Residents can also go online at https://www.doglicenses.us/OH/Wood/ or to the dog shelter to purchase their licenses.
