A Bowling Green State University student was arrested Thursday for assault after he reportedly hit a woman he met on Tinder.
Josiah S. Crenshaw, 19, who lives on campus, was taken to Wood County jail after he reportedly struck the Bowling Green woman after an argument about how much they disliked each other, according to the police report.
On Thursday, around 8:15 p.m., Crenshaw and the victim were on their way back to Bowling Green from Toledo, when they began arguing. The victim told police that Crenshaw told her to get out of the car while they were driving southbound on Interstate 75.
According to the report, Crenshaw pulled into the Circle K gas station at 1602 E. Wooster St., then allegedly got out of the vehicle, walked to the passenger side, and hit the victim three times. The victim reported she was struck in the head, chest and shoulder, then got out of the vehicle.
A witness to the incident told police he saw Crenshaw jump out of the vehicle, run to the passenger side, punch the victim a couple times, then threw her out of the car.
Crenshaw was found by police on campus. He told police that he pulled over to the side of the road on I-75 and told the woman to get out of the car, but she refused.
According to the police report, video footage at the gas station shows Crenshaw on the passenger side of the vehicle, reaching into the car and thrashing around before he threw the victim out of the vehicle.
