Bowling Green Police Division arrested a man in his boxer shorts who was reportedly found in a stranger’s storage closet early this morning.
Owen Anderson, 22, of Elida, was cited for criminal trespassing and taken to Wood County Jail.
Around 1 this morning, police were called to a home in the 400 block of South Main Street for the report of an unknown person in a storage closet at an apartment complex. The man was reportedly banging on the walls and moaning loudly.
Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the caller, who pointed out a door that opens from the outside of the apartment building. Officers reportedly could hear moaning and someone moving around inside.
Police opened the door and found a man lying on the ground wearing nothing but boxers. He appeared sweaty and had spit on his face. An officer located the man’s identification in his cargo shorts that were on the ground.
The woman who called police stated she had never seen the man before.
Anderson was reportedly unsteady on his feet and had slurred speech and was incoherent most of the time when police were speaking with him. From the portions of the conversation the police could understand, Anderson stated he was staying with a friend in town and had been drinking at the bars.
