A Toledo man picked up for reportedly shoplifting in Bowling Green Monday evening was found to have an active statewide warrant through adult parole.
Nicolas Gilliland, 21, was initially stopped at Walmart for theft of items in his backpack, including four pairs of pants, four knives, and beverages. Gilliland initially gave BG Police a fictitious name and date of birth.
Police could find no information using the fake name, and Gilliland reportedly told them he never knew his parents so he was unsure if he was given a different name at birth. After repeatedly giving the false name, Gilliland reportedly gave his actual name, and the warrant for his arrest was found.
He was arrested for theft, falsification and the active warrant, and was taken to Wood County Jail.
