Bowling Green Middle School hosted a Manufacturing Day event in collaboration with BG Economic Development and local manufacturing businesses including Betco, Campbells, GKN Driveline, Lubrizol, Marathon Special Products, NuProduce Solutions, Phoenix Technologies International, Principal Business Enterprises, and TH Plastics.
It took place in the middle school gymnasium. Students received “passports” and had the opportunity to visit interactive stations set up by these companies. Students asked questions about the businesses and learned about career opportunities.
The goal of Manufacturing Day is to introduce students to the world of modern manufacturing and to highlight job opportunities available in this community. Many of these jobs are in high demand and may fit perfectly for students who plan to enter the workforce right after high school or plan to pursue a two-year degree.
