Marilyn J. Berfield age 85, of Perrysburg, OH passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Bowling Green Manor. She was born on May 23, 1939, in Plymouth, IN, to Leo F. and Adalene C. (Xaver) Schoner. She married Robert G. Berfield on June 22, 1957 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Plymouth, IN. Marilyn and Robert were blessed with 5 children, and they celebrated nearly 48 years of marriage until Robert’s passing in 2005.
Marilyn worked as a homemaker taking care of a family and numerous homes over the years. She enjoyed all the traveling she did with her career Marine husband from the Atlantic to Pacific Oceans. She also enjoyed making and teaching crafts, and maintained a passion for genealogy. Marilyn has written 13 family history books 2 of which were published. While she maintained a great zeal for making a home, it was her family, especially her grandchildren she enjoyed spending time with the most.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Celia (Jay) Haas of Luckey, Mark A. (Pauline) Berfield of Perrysburg, and Curt B. Berfield of Perrysburg. Daughter-in-law; Kim Berfield of Woodville, grandchildren: Joshua (Kristin) Berfield, Benjamin (Kennedy) Berfield, Derek (Kaylea) Berfield, AJ (Rebecca) Haas, Todd (Kelsey) Haas, Marilyn Landis, Adalene (John) Huffman, and Trevor Berfield. Sister; Rita C. Morrow and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Robert, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter; Vickie Sue Berfield, son; Robert Berfield Jr., great-granddaughter; Skylar Berfield, and brother; David Schoner.
Family and friends will be received 9-11 a.m., Friday April 4, 2025 with a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home 110 W. Main Street Luckey, OH 43443. Officiating will be, Deacon Thomas Wray. Marilyn will be laid to rest next to Robert Sr. in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey. Guests are invited back to Faith United Methodist Church 111 Main Street in Luckey, for a luncheon immediately following the committal service at the cemetery.
